History

Verety, formerly SEI, launched operations in 2004. However, its story began more than 35 years ago with an IT consultancy named Shield Enterprises Incorporated (SEI).

Established in 1969, SEI developed a reputation for tackling complex technology issues with quality results and innovation. SEI helped establish Cellular Business Systems, Inc. (CBSI), the first company to provide billing services to cell phone service providers. CBSI captured 90% market share within nine months. SEI also provided considerable support to NAVTEQ, the leading provider of digital map data. NAVTEQ now supports one billion online mapping transactions annually and is used in diverse navigation systems. In 2004, the SEI consulting organization became an independent company called Solugenix.

In 1988, SEI established a technical support division in response to the needs of its clients. The company now focuses on help desk, IT support, and inside sales services. SEI is a specialist in supporting the quick service restaurant (QSR) industry, and its clients include McDonald’s, Dunkin’ Brands, and Sonic Corp. SEI has six Customer Service Centers that support millions of calls each year.

Based on its experience supporting QSRs, a leading food retailer chose SEI to build an innovative remote order service to enhance the customer experience. A separate business unit was launched in 2004 and began taking drive-thru orders remotely in October of that year. Renamed Verety LLC in 2006, the company has taken millions of orders for restaurants across the country and continues to deliver accurate, fast, and friendly service.
