Overview:
Inside the Restaurant
As soon as the agent keys in the first item, crew members see it on the store’s order display and begin assembling the order. They can also hear the entire order on their headset and can interrupt the order if necessary. Orders are pushed into the kitchen, driving efficiency. Because the cashier is no longer taking orders, he or she is always ready to serve the customer at the payment and can focus on the customer experience. In addition, any cashier can staff the cashier window, as it no longer requires someone with strong multitasking and English speaking skills. This supplemental labor, the calmer staging area, and more manageable crew roles contribute to a less stressful work environment which in turn improves crew morale.
