Meet Carol, a Verety Supervisor
Carol has long had her sights set on work-at-home opportunities. Blustery, snowy winters and rising gas prices made working at home an appealing solution that would make Carol more accessible to her children. In addition, there is a 50-mile distance between Carol’s hometown of Tappen and the larger North Dakota towns of Bismarck and Jamestown, where employment opportunities are more prevalent.
Carol joined Verety after seeing an ad in the local newspaper. She applied online and was soon invited to join the company. Carol participated in training at Verety’s Steele Storefront before taking her first order at home. After successfully serving as a Work@Home ROS, Carol was promoted to Lead ROS in recognition of her outstanding performance.
From there, Carol decided to apply for the Supervisor role. “As a Lead ROS, I loved working with all the agents,” she explains. “I especially liked working with the new hires and the training process.” As a Supervisor, Carol works in the Storefront and is responsible for tracking ROS performance and attendance, as well as communicating with Work@Home agents via the internet. “While I no longer take orders all day, I do still get to jump on when things get busy, which I enjoy,” Carol remarks. While Supervisors currently work in Storefront locations, Verety plans to have Work@Home Supervisors at some point in the future.
Carol has found that the Work@Home position can be a stepping stone to additional opportunities. “I am very excited about Work@Home,” she remarks. “I think it is amazing that we are able to do this from remote areas.”
