Meet Debra, a Work@Home Associate
Debra, who lives 30 miles outside of Steele, North Dakota, was working for a daycare center in Bismarck when she heard about Verety's Work@Home opportunity. Debra was immediately interested. Working at home would eliminate her daily 90-minute (roundtrip) commute, allow her to get the children off to school, and help her keep an eye on her elderly father-in-law.
A short time after visiting the Verety Storefront in Steele, Debra was in training to become a Remote Order Specialist (ROS). She now takes orders while working from her home. "I like to get up very early, so my shift starts at 5 a.m.," she explains. "I also like to log in to the computer five minutes early to make sure I'm on time. I work in my home office and am completely focused on order taking during my shift."
Debra loves the convenience and flexibility of her new career. "I'm no longer driving in below-zero temperatures every day, and I've been able to fine-tune my schedule," she explains. "On most days I work from 5 a.m. to 7:30 a.m. I'm off for the next 30 minutes so I can wake up my granddaughter and son, get them breakfast, and see them off to school. I clock back in at 8 a.m. and work until 1 p.m." Working at home also gives Debra peace of mind regarding her 101-year-old father-in-law, who lives with her. "He's self sufficient, but it's good to be home so I can check on him during my breaks and lunch time."
Working at home has been a great solution for Debra. "I enjoy taking orders, and I love getting up in the morning and being able to work at home. I no longer have to leave before the kids get up and return way after they get home. I can always be there for them.”
