Meet Marilyn, a Work@Home Associate
Marilyn and her husband had been living out-of-state and decided to move back to their hometown area of Wishek, North Dakota. Upon arrival, Marilyn learned of Verety’s Work@Home positions from the local newspaper as well as from her niece, one of several relatives who are also members of the Verety family. Marilyn was hired as a Remote Order Specialist (ROS) and trained in the Verety Storefront. “The training was relaxing and the atmosphere made learning the job easy,” Marilyn recalls. “Being part of a new way to do business also appealed to me.”

Marilyn did so well as an ROS that she was promoted to Lead ROS. She now spends some of her time back in the Verety Storefront where she trains ROSes and assists supervisors. Marilyn enjoys the variety of her new responsibilities and still taking orders from home.

When she works at home, Marilyn won’t be caught in her pajamas. “I put my jewelry and makeup on; this is my job,” she says. Her office is very organized, with a bulletin board where she posts information that helps her answer customer questions. “I try to be the customer myself,” she says, which helps her anticipate the customers’ needs. She has even developed a sixth sense about what customers will order a few seconds after they begin to speak. She enjoys talking to people all over the country and can name the soft drink preferences in any state Verety serves. “I love being part of this,” she says. “Here I am taking an order in one area of the country one second, and the next minute, taking an order a thousand miles away!”

Marilyn also appreciates the ability to track her progress through Verety’s reports. She can see statistics that help her measure her performance and set goals for improvement. It’s clear that Marilyn thrives in the Verety environment. When asked to sum up her job she says, “It’s a lot of fun.”
